Minecraft has been around for a considerable time and its popularity is increasing. However, since its official release on November 18, 2011, more and more servers were added, removed and then disappeared. Over the last 12 years, Minecraft has had four servers. Some were full of chaos and drama, while others were a quiet refuge for friends.

The Novylen Minecraft Server located in Canada is the official name of oldest Minecraft Server ever built, on April 9th the year 2010, four months earlier than the previous server, MinecraftOnline. But if you read previously, you'd notice that MinecraftOnline was released the same day multiplayer was first created which is why Novylen created earlier than this?

Although the server was launched on the same day Minecraft Multiplayer was released however, the map was developed by rbos in Minecraft's InfDev period (specifically InfDev 2010.0413), which was four months prior to the launch of Minecraft Multiplayer. The server has not been reset. This means that a player could have hopped onto the server more than 10 years ago, built something, and then left forever with their work as the only evidence of their existence. Novylen is much less well-known than 2b2t. This means that it hasn't faced the same fate as other frights, exploits, hackers, and others. This has led to many of the original creations of 2010 still being visible today! xszx

Nerd.nu was created for the first time on June 10, 2009, just three days after Minecraft's unofficial Multiplayer release Version 0.0.16a. Survival mode was not yet available in Minecraft at this time. As you can see from the image above, many creations from various eras of Minecraft were built on Nerd.nu. There have been many gamemodes added to the server over time. The most well-known and longest-running is the 'Creative' game mode that allows players to fly and create whatever they want.

While the server was established in the beginning stages of the game, there are those who believe that MinecraftOnline is older than it is because the map was repeatedly reset, meaning it isn't truly the same place it was a few years ago. The Creative game mode developed by Nerd.nu is currently in its 36th revision. It has been reset 35 times before.

MinecraftOnline was launched on August 4, 2010, and has been around since then. It was created within a matter of minutes of Notch releasing survival mode. Amazingly, the server has remained online and has not been reset since. It's not like the cobblestone that 2b2t has created.

It's amazing that MinecraftOnline has had a staff since the beginning and, unlike 2b2t, MinecraftOnline has rules that players must follow. It's not always clear that players adhere to the rules however in the 12 years that it has been operating, more than 43,000 players have been banned. It's not just that. The world's size (remember that it has never been reset) has reached 26GB, just one world.

2b2t is one of the most well-known Minecraft servers. 2b2t was established in December of 2010. It is known for being an anarchy server. This means that there are thousands of players using the hacked client software, and an absence of friendliness. This gives the server its distinctive, beat-up look. The thing that the server is most famous for though, is it's map, which, since its inception has never been reset. This means that countless players have left and come back over the years, leaving their mark on the server for ever.

In it's early days 2b2t was a constant stream of players, fluctuating between 10 and 80 players over the years. In June 2016 however, the situation changed when TheCampingRusher uploaded his first video. Since then, many other YouTubers have uploaded videos to the server, making 2b2t it's popularity known today. xszx In 2022, the server constantly exceeds 1000 users during peak times and it doesn't look like that number will decrease any time soon.

In conclusion, in addition to these servers, a number of other servers are from the year 2011. Servers haven't all been around for that long.
