Mojang Retires Its Card Battle Game Offers One More Year Of Playtime

Mojang means Minecraft. But that's not the only thing the Microsoft-owned developer tinkers around with. Scrolls was a different project: an online card-based battle game that's accessible on PC, Mac and tablets. Stockalicious The game is now at the end of its run and the developer has announced that it will cease development on the game. It doesn't give any specific reason for the quiet ending however we've reached out to see if there was any specific reason behind the decision that Mojang won a legal battle against Bethesda in being able name the game "Scrolls" in the first place, but was barred to not name sequels in the same way. Mojang promises to keep the servers running for another year, which means there's a total of twelve months to work on the most recent update and levels, which were released only last month.



Update An Mojang spokesperson told us: "The launch of the "Scrolls" beta was great success. Tens of thousands of players played every day, and a lot of them are still active. Unfortunately the game has reached a stage where it can no longer maintain its constant growth."
