Mercury Car Insurance Customer Service How Bad Was It

The company that merged to form Mercury Insurance had a terrible reputation. I read all of it and I'm certain that a lot of the information in that article has been outdated. However, since they are now part of the larger umbrella organization known as AM Best, I decided to give them another chance based on their customer service. I was not disappointed.

The first thing I noticed right away is that their agents were extremely friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They made it seem like they genuinely cared about helping me find the right policy for me. One of the things I appreciated about this company is that they took the time to talk with me about all of my options before making any final decisions on anything. Most agents just sort of throw a bunch of numbers at you without really explaining much. By taking the time to talk to you, they were able to make sure that all of your needs were met.

Another thing that struck me as great were the commissions they offered to me. Every company offers different percentages off of your premiums. However, the biggest difference that I saw from this company was that they actually gave me a nice percentage off of my premium. Not only that, but they also gave me a discount for having more than one vehicle insured with them. There is something that you have to look for though. Some companies will only offer you a discount if you have a good driving history.

I was interested in seeing how customer service was handled by this particular company, so I went ahead and asked some questions. I figured that I would get an honest answer and something that would stick with me if I was ever considering them again. Surprisingly, their response time was quite fast and they provided a number of useful answers to my questions. I was even able to speak to one of their representatives by phone after I had spoke to them over the phone on the phone. All of their customer service representatives were very courteous and I got to hear some of their jokes and they were actually quite funny.

After talking to them over the phone I wanted to see how well they did in settling my claim. So, I made a few appointments to actually go and check it out in person. I decided to go to Mercury Lime Road and to the south of their facility. I parked my car in their lot, which turned out to be a mistake as they had no office there. They had a single receptionist there who was quite busy.

Once she was done dealing with me, she informed me that my claim would be processed immediately. Now, this is good service indeed but the process itself was a little slow. The paperwork needed to be filled out quickly so as not to have any issues with submitting it the wrong way. I didn't know it at the time but I later learned that processing my claim would take several days. It wasn't until I got in the mail that I found out how long it actually took. Then it took awhile for them to send out the confirmation paperwork.

After that I was a bit more satisfied as they did keep me informed of the progress each step of the way. Then one day I went to pick up my car and as I was driving it I heard an unusual sound coming from under the hood. It was the most unrecognizable sound I ever heard. It was the same tone that an automated teller used to make at the very beginning of the phone call.

As Ohio Car Insurance drove closer I could see the sign on the roof had changed to read "MISSING". I immediately drove off, without taking a look under the hood. As I got out of the car I started to panic, what had happened to the great company that I had just gotten to know all of those months ago?
