Furthermore among the top advertising specialists Karen Post weighed in with an extremely interesting comment Susan Weaver the current president of AANR brushed off that proposition saying that she was proud of it

Now, I do not understand what others might think, but if someone like Karen Post says something like that, I consider it should be taken seriously. Simply because we like something, it does not mean that it's the most suitable choice. At least AANR granted that their site needs work, but that they will take action with the new funds created from patrons. I find this peculiar AANR boasts about having a $1.5 Million budget and yet they do not have the funds needed to revamp their website? Plus, from the way the post is written, AANR might have to wait quite a while, so where does that leave its members who might need a better looking and more user friendly website?
Another dilemma that got many naturists upset is the fact the acting executive director of AANR, Jim Smock, isn't a naturist. I see their point, but it never really bothered me till I saw the image in this article today. Now, I might be mistaken, but from the looks of it, Jim simply removed his top long enough to get the picture (you can however see it in the image!). What sort of signal does that send? Why the need to pretend? It made my heart fall when I saw it because it adds to the thought that the post is one huge joke or a game (at least that's what some of the people said).

The "nudist movement," as it's perceived by the general populace is somewhat of an oxymoron. Nudists are viewed as being an overweight and aging population that simply enjoys sitting around and sunbathing naked all day long. But from what I 've seen and experienced over these past two years, the reality is entirely different. There's no dearth of interest but there's an image problem. Let us face it, it isn't perceived as trendy to be a nudist. This article now didn't help, and things like this make it even more challenging to change the public's perception. https://s3.amazonaws.com/l-naturist/young-nudist.html am not a believer that any press is good press. Sometimes it is advisable to say no, even if it's the Wall Street Journal.
In the US we have bigger organizations like TNS and AANR. But the fact that no one truly knows why, when or what they do, is a significant roadblock when it comes to getting support. Now, naturism is a different type of cause (possibly because it isn't usually perceived as a "cause"). Anyone on the road would probably say when someone wants to be naked then they should go home and take their clothes off Should a person want to participate in social unclothed tasks then there are a group of beaches, clubs, resorts and house get-togethers. So no need for advocacy there. Therefore, support from non-naturists would be difficult to get unless one promotes a different set of principles which can be presently not being addressed by some other organizations.
If you are a nonprofit or advocacy group, you need support and contributions. Very few people would contribute to AANR or TNS merely because they believe in "the cause" or "mission." TNS has a good publication that's why most people become members. Individuals join AANR because they need discounts (and some are basically compelled to become members if they want to be part of specific nudist resorts or clubs). https://s3.amazonaws.com/l-naturist/blondes-on-a-beach.html that people ask, "What do I get if I join?" pretty much sums up the point. People that feel passionate about a cause or organization will contribute regardless of what they're going to get in return. Since there's https://s3.amazonaws.com/l-naturist/nudists.html out there today, there's nothing for naturists to drum up support for or rally behind.
FKK is most likely the weakest of all the naturist groups and yet we are the most vocal and effective. Curating content that addresses unique issues takes quite a bit of time and commitment and while other groups can AFFORD to do this, none of them actually do.
