He is addicted to alcohol, something which his friend Derrick Ronnie Powell pointed out when he was 17. The problem intensified in 2013. In 2015, James lost his job as a health centre receptionist as a result of his addiction.

He is Belgian. He has a post-graduate degree in philosophy, politics and economics.

Physically, James is in pretty good shape. He is tall with olive skin, grey hair and green eyes.

He grew up in an upper class neighbourhood. His father left when he was young, leaving him with his mother, who was an addict.

He is currently single. His most recent romance was with an artist called Jodi Eli Davis, who was 2 years older than him. They broke up because Jodi wanted to be with somebody more vibrant.

James's best friend is a local activist called Derrick Powell. They get on well most of the time. He also hangs around with Tanisha Morales and Aliza Rivera. They enjoy hockey together.
