Mojang, a Minecraft developer, announced in October that the second part of their massive Caves and Cliffs update would be available in "a month or at most". It appears that it's getting close to time, since Mikael "slicedlime" Hedberg, the technical lead for Minecraft Java Edition, just tweeted something mysterious:

It may not seem like anything to be concerned about however, Mojang employees are known for using Twitter to tease new features - or, in some cases, accidentally doing it, at the very minimum - and the wording in the tweet, specifically "pre-paring", hints at a pre-release for Caves and Cliffs Part 2.

Pre-releases typically come out in the days or weeks before the launch date. They are an interim between "snapshots", which are the test bed for new features that players may opt into as well as the full update. The first pre-release for 1.17 which was the last update, was released on May 27, and the full update was released on June 8th.

What does this mean? We hope that it means that we won't have to wait long for the 1.18 update that will add a stunning new worlds to your Minecraft worlds. System32 It could be out before November ends!

Mojang also announced in this year's Minecraft Live presentation, that the Deep Dark biome with its new mob The Warden would be moved back to The Wild update in 2022.

Is your server up for the update? Have you tried the snapshots? Let us know what you think in the comments!
